organic cotton kids clothes
Organic cotton kids clothing (1-14y), made in Canada
The kids years, when it comes to clothes, are filled with assumptions. Outgrowing a garment in three months. Choosing colour over comfort. Polyester blends marketed as "active" because they're cheap to manufacture.Β
mini mioche cuts the opposite line: 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton in pieces designed to last through multiple growth windows, with construction strong enough to be handed down once they're outgrown.
Every piece in this collection is plastic-free (no polyester or recycled-polyester blends spinning microplastics into the wash water), non-toxic (no PFAS finishes, no flame retardants, no chlorine bleach, no AZO dyes), and gender-neutral by cut and palette. We design for the kid who wants to wear the same hoodie three days in a row, not for trend cycles.
What's in this collection
Tees, long sleeves, hoodies, sweatshirts, joggers, sweatpants, shorts, dresses, pajamas, and accessories in sizes 1y through 14y. The cuts are gender-neutral. The palette is core neutrals plus seasonal accent colours.
Why "kids clothing" is the wrong frame
Most kids clothing is built to be cheap and quickly replaced. We build it to be more costly out of the gate, then worn for the better part of a decade - through four kids. 100% GOTS-certified cotton (jersey, french terry, fleece, slub, and piquΓ©) takes the daily abuse and softens with every wash - instead of pilling. Reinforced construction at knees where it's needed. Real plant-based buttons and premium quality zippers that don't break in the third month. The cost per wear beats the fast fashion tee.
How to think about size graduation
Toddler (1-4y), kids (2-14y), and teens-tweens (9-16y) overlap at the edges. A long-limbed 7-year-old might wear a 9-10 top and a 7-8 bottom. A petite 12-year-old might still fit kids 9-10. The cuts within each size are gender-neutral, so daughters wear what sisters and brothers wore. When it comes to pants, we add drawstrings always so when it comes to choose size, make the call on length.Β

common questions about organic cotton kids clothing
What are the best kids clothing brands in Canada?
The honest answer: brands that are actually transparent about fiber content, manufacturing location, and chemistry. mini mioche has manufactured in Canada continuously since 2008. We've partnered with our factories since 2008, our 100% organic cotton is GOTS-certified, and the fiber content on the label is what the garment is actually made of.
Are mini mioche clothes gender-neutral?
Yes, by design. Cuts work across the line, palette is shared, and we don't split into boys/girls sections. Sustainability is built into this design choice.
What about non-toxic kids clothing?
Every piece is GOTS-certified, which by definition means no PFAS, no formaldehyde, no chlorine bleach, no AZO dyes, no flame retardants. The certification is the audit.
How does mini mioche compare to fast fashion?
Different category. Fast fashion is polyester-blended, treated with finish chemistry, and built to last 3-6 months. mini mioche is 100% organic cotton, untreated, built to last 8+ years. Higher cost per piece; lower cost per wear.
