The path to planet-positive

Zero Emissions Day, which falls on September 21 each year, is a global initiative that encourages individuals and communities to minimize their carbon footprint and strive for a sustainable future. It's also a great reminder that we all play a vital role in mitigating climate change by reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and embracing sustainable practices, however we're able to.

Here are mini mioche, we have spent the last fifteen years creating the best kids clothes on - and for - the planet. As you know, our company was recently acquired. Since then, we have made some pretty significant sustainability investments, with the goal of maximizing our impact for the next fifteen years. 

Here's what we're doing, together with you - the famm. :)

1% for the Planet

As proud, active members of 1% for the Planet, we commit a minimum of 1% of our sales to climate based initiatives approved by this global organization. We are working with a few great climate-focused companies to measure, record, offset, and neutralize our impact to create a better future for all of our littles. 

• Running Tide moves carbon from the fast to the slow carbon cycle to restore ocean health.
• Heirloom's direct air capture technology enhances the carbon mineralization process, speeding up the rate at which naturally occurring minerals capture CO₂ rather than using energy-intensive fans to draw air in.
• Remora captures CO₂ from semi-truck tailpipes as they drive, with the CO₂ destined for long-term storage.

Carbon-Neutral Shipping

In partnership with the Shopify Climate initiative, we have committed to carbon-neutral shipping. Every time an order is processed and shipped, we calculate the distance it's being shipped and the carbon impact of shipping that distance. A contribution is then made to purchase carbon removal credits from companies that are a part of the Shopify Sustainability Fund, creating technologies and solutions that pull carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and store it long term. 

Since initiating Shopify Climate's Planet app on August 9, our entire ecommerce shipping has been 100% carbon neutral. That carbon impact? Equivalent to over 12,000 smart phone charges.

Climate Neutral Certification

We are partnering with Climate Neutral Certified to measure, offset, and reduce our carbon emissions at our home base in Toronto, Canada, and throughout our business operations on an annual basis. We will be completely Carbon Neutral Certified no later than November 7, 2023.

Climate Neutral Certification is the global standard for companies achieving net zero carbon emissions, and we’re proud to join this family of leaders focused on doing the work needed to preserve our kids' future.

Zero Emissions Day serves as a powerful reminder that our collective actions can shape a sustainable future for our children. By involving kids in the conversation, we can make a significant positive impact.
